Camp Programs

Brixology; Engineering Adventures - Brixology Camp sets the foundation for our next generation of makers! Children learn about different types of engineering and then team up to construct a different engineering-themed project using LEGO® bricks. They learn about aerospace engineering while assembling a space station. They explore mechanical engineering as they build boats and vehicles. That's not all – from carnival rides to drawing machines, mechanical animals to truss bridges, your future engineer will build upon their creativity to solve real-world design challenges, while developing their problem-solving and team-building skills. Let the tinkering begin!  Campers receive daily custom Mad Science take home engineering projects.  (Grades 3 to 6)

NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers - Mad Science and NASA have collaborated up to bring you the excitement and wonder of space in the NASA Space Academy camp. This is your chance to be a rocket scientist! Explore the science involved in rocket construction as you build your own rocket. Watch an amazing rocket launch as it soars to the sky.Use teamwork to complete an important space mission and build a model space station. Explore the farthest reaches of our solar system and create a lunar eclipse in our Mad Science planetary tour.  This stellar camp is your ticket to the stars as you journey through the galaxy. (Grades 1 to 5)

Crazy Chemworks - Shake up a flask of fun in the lab and become a junior chemist!  Kids will both learn and apply the concepts, tools and techniques of real chemists! Learn to recognize chemical reactions and mix up a few reactive ingredients for some sensational results. Check out the colors of chemistry with the power of pH paper and create a stopper-popping reaction.  Probe the properties of light and discover some unusual applications of glow-in-the-dark technology, learn about stages of matter with dry ice, and did we mention...Slime Olympics?  YES!!!  Campers have a blast as they make some crazy concoctions. (Grades 1 to 5)

Secret Agent Lab - Secret Agent or Super Sleuth...why not both? Do you think you have what it takes to discover “who done it”, can you send secret messages and have what it takes to beat the laser challenge? If so, this camp is for you! From secret spy communications to forensic science, each day campers will sleuth out the answer to many of life’s mysteries! Each day campers will receive cool take home projects from making their own super spy dead drop device (is it really canned fruit...nope, it's a secret spy compartment) to their own fingerprint finder, crime scene solver, code breaker and more. (Grades 1 to 5)

Red Hot Robots - Red Hot Robots is our junior robotics camp where campers will investigate robotic fundamentals while building two ingenious robots that they get to keep! Campers will explore circuits & electricity, robotic sensors, gears and mechanisms and advanced robotic applications. Campers will play with various types of robots while exploring their different capabilities.  Are robots just toys?  How do they solve today’s problems?  What creative camper will design tomorrow’s future robots? In addition to their robot builds campers will build daily take home projects such as bug bots and their own crazy wire game.  (Grades 1 to 3)

Operation Exploration - For the camper who wants to try it all there is our Operation Exploration! Each day campers will explore various scientific topics through fun hands on exploration. During Junior Engineerscampers will build a 6 foot geodesic dome out of newspapers; Crazy Chemistry campers will make bath fizzies, chalk, grow crystals and more; and in Radical Reactions campers will explore amazing chemical reactions. The Organ Trail will take campers on a journey of the human body and What's Your Potential will entice campers to explore inertia while creating our egg crash test car, and the differences between potential and kinetic energy while creating various cool contraptions!  (Grades 1 to 5)

Super Genius Edition - This camp is so awesome it's Super Genius! Campers will learn about cells and DNA during Cell City...but look out, some of those might mutate during camp and some campers may turn into...Gasp...zombies by the end of the day! But it doesn't end there, campers will learn electroplating and other reactive chemical experiments during Chemical Counting.Campers will spend two days exploring amusement park science which will include building their own your own custom designed paper roller coaster to take home at the end of the camp.  Campers then take their knowledge of mechanical marvels to new levels in a room sized Rube Goldberg challenge!  (Grades 4-6)

Eureka! Inventor’s Camp - Creative Contraption Warning!  This is a camp designed by our own creative inventors!  Each day campers will be given a series of challenges which must be overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from world famous inventors and the most important thing of all… their mind.  With a little bit of ingenuity they'll construct catapults and forts and then lay siege, fabricate innovative flying contraptions, design their own gizmo prototypes, and will even assemble a working Light Saber to take home.  While Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration, this camp is 100% fun! (Grades 1 to 5)

Castaway! An Ecological Adventure - Campers have found themselves stranded on an island…now what? Campers work together using what supplies they have to get through until they are rescued. They will create shelters, use water filtration systems, and study the animals and environment around them.  Learn to harness the sun’s energy to create solar cookers, learn about the importance of replenishing what they take from their earth, the importance of teamwork and more! Campers will build daily themed projects.  Full day campers will creatively design & construct a two foot replica of their tree house shelter which will go home with them at the end of camp.  (Grades 1 to 5)

Super Duper Science Sampler - This camp has so much, it’s Super Duper!  Mining & Crafting is the best way to explore our earth.  Pan for minerals, create volcanos and more!  ‘See’ what the deal is with optics while making a kaleidoscope & create a sun print in a diazzo chamber.  Blast off to space as you launch rockets and build your own to take home.  How does gravity help us get to other planets?  Jump right into the science behind sports and see how team work & a strong understanding of your balance help you win the game.  Arrive at camp to find a real crime scene surrounded by crime scene tape-use forensic science solve who is trying to ruin your ice cream party.  (Grades 1 to 5)

Mission to Mars - Campers will explore our solar system and discover why Mars is the next step for human exploration.  Campers will build and launch rockets; investigating what is necessary to leave earth and cross space to our neighboring planets.  Robotics are fundamental to early exploration and campers will spend two days delving into advanced robotic concepts along with building an OWI All Terrain Robot to take home.  They will test their skills battling robotic arms in a tournament to see how difficult it is for the rovers.  Campers will conduct scientific experiments similar to those being done by current & future rovers. Will Mars be able to support human life?  Find out!   (Grades 4 to 6)
